Emphasising on security of women travelling in night buses and other vehicles, Chairperson of the State Commission for Women (SCW) lopamudra Buxipatra on Wednesday said she would take appropriate steps regarding the issue very soon.
The commission would discuss with the officials of the Transport Department and bus owners regarding security of women passengers, especially at the night time.
The chairperson said that data of bus owners, conductors, helpers and drivers of private and Government buses would be kept and a guideline would be framed for them.
Buxipatra said the commission would also discuss with top executive of different companies, where women areworking at night, about the safety measures for women workers while returning from the workplaces at night.
“To create a safety environment for women, we will hold discussions with enforcement agencies, company officials and Government officers,” said Buxipatra.
