like previous years, the Talcher Working Journalists’ Association celebrated the Raksha Bandhan festival with the inmates of the Talcher Special Sub-Jail here on Saturday.
A meeting was held on the occasion. Senior advocate of the Talcher Bar Association Arun Shankar Mishra joined as chief guest and said jail is a place of self reformation and analysis.
Former general secretary of the lawyers’ body Rishnamanjari Sahu and labour Union leader Ananda Acharya joined as guests of honour and said the jail inmates should forget their previous activities and start thinking about their kith and kin and mingle with the mainstream of the society by changing themselves.
The meeting was presided over by Journalists’ Association president Artatrana Pani. General Secretary Dhiramohan Ray and Joint Secretary Rangadhar Nayak also spoke. later, members of the body tied Rakhi and distributed sweets among the jail inmates.
