Police on Thursday night arrested a 30-year-old man on the charges of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Dalit school girl at village Bangara under the Binjharapur police station in Jajpur district.
According to officer of Binjharapur police station Rina Das, “Rashikanta Mallick of Bangara had on July 9 kidnapped the minor girl from village Jenadia and raped her at his village. After raping the girl, he left her in her village.
The mother of the girl filed an FIR on July 10 in this regard. The girl was also medically examined at the district Government hospital in Jajpur on Thursday. The girl is a Class IX student in the
village school.”
Mallick was produced in the court of District Judge on Friday. The court rejected his bail application and remanded him to jail custody.
