The School and Mass Education Department on Tuesday changed school timings for students of Classes-IX, X, XI and XII in view of the rise in maximum temperature.
As per sources at the department, a decision has been taken to direct schools to hold physical classes of Classes-IX and XI students from 7 am to 9 am and for Classes-X and XII students from 8 am to 12 pm.
Earlier, the department had fixed schools’ timings from 7 am to 1 pm, which the Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA) opposed.
