Scared Govt denies suitable venue for Modi rally, says BJP

PNS

The BJP on Thursday slammed the Naveen Patnaik Government for denying permission for a suitable public ground in Bhubaneswar for Narendra Modi’s rally on February 11.

“The Chief Minister and his BJD are scared of Modi’s meeting and its subsequent positive impact in favour of the BJP,” said BJP State president KV Singh Deo at a Press conference here. He said the BJP had written to the Government to allow any one ground at Unit-1, Unit-3 and Capital High School for the Modi rally, but the proposal was rejected on the pleat that a Government ground would not be allowed for a political party’s meeting.

While the Chief Minister has been using Government grounds for political purposes, the BJP is denied such facility and “We oppose the Government’s decision in case of the Modi meeting,” he said, adding that a Defence establishment in West Bengal was allowed for landing of Modi’s chopper on Wednesday. Deo said the small Barmunda ground has been by the Government for the Modi rally for face-saving. Modi will arrive here along with party president Rajnath Singh and address the rally at 12.30 pm.
