PNS

The World Environment Day was celebrated throughout Koraput district by different organistations. Social Environment Education and Welfare Association (SEEWA) Jeypore celebrated the day by appealing to the public and shop-owners not to use or sell polythene.

SEEWA also distributed 1,000 eco-friendly bags to the people and requested them to carry the bag with them for their personal purpose.

The organisation urged the administration to strictly issue a regulation to ban polythene and also to fine the persons who use or sell polythene.

On the occasion, a cycle rally was taken out throughout the town, covering the nearby villages, urging the people not to use polythene and plastic bags and plant more and more trees to make a healthier society.

The NR Creative and the Hope planted hundreds of trees in the nearby villages and requested the locals to take care of the plants and also name the plants after their sons and daughters.
