On the allegation of embezzlement of Government funds, the Sarpanch of Sugo GP under Jaleswar block has been expelled by the Baleswar district Collector.
It has been alleged that financial irregularities of Rs 20 lakh have been committed by Sarpanch Dinesh Jena in the execution of developmental works.
A Sugo GP resident, Rabindra Jena, had moved the matter before the High Court after failing to get any result from the district administration though he brought the matter to the notice of officials. However, following a court order and an inquiry against the Sarpanch, action was taken against him, said reports.
