Members of the Sankhadhwani Rasta Suraksha Samiti met the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety Chairman Justice KS Radhakrishnan in New Delhi recently and apprised him about steps it has taken to check road accidents in Odisha.
Sankhadwani working president Subrat Kumar Nanda and secretary Prakash Kumar Mohapatra presented details about the long-term road safety measures through a power-point presentation. They showed all video to the committee members.
Mohapatra stated measures have been made by the Sankhadhani to lessen road accidents by 50 per cent by the 2020.
The Committee members wanted to know about other private organisations working on road safety and assured that the suggestion to be made by Odisha would be looked into. The committee emphasized that companies, including motor vehicle making firms, should provide support for road safety under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies
