The Utkal Sammilani has condemned the disrespect shown to Odia patriotic song Bande Utkal Janani at the annual convention of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) held here on Friday.
The participants remained seated when the song was being sung at the event. Such disgraceful act even in the presence of the Chief Minister, the Culture Minister and an MlA is highly unfortunate, lamented Utkal Sammilani leader Dillip Dahsharma in a statement here on Saturday. “If not legally, morally people should pay respect by standing when the patriotic track is played or sung,” stated Dahsharma, who demanded that both the State Government and the event organiser apologise for this act.
