The Odia Bhasa Sangram Samiti, a forum fighting for the cause of Odia language, convenor Sankarsan Parida on Friday maintained that the Samiti would resort to agitation again if the State Government fails to keep its promises before August 15.

Bowing down to the pressure of the Samiti activists who had resorted to hunger strike for seven days between July 1 and 8 demanding implementation of Orissa Official language Act-1954, the State Government had formed an inter-Ministerial committee headed by Industries and School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra for implementation of the same Act.

“The Committee’s first meeting will be convened on August 1 and the Bhasa Sangram Samiti has submitted its proposals to it. We hope the Government will ensure implementation of the Orissa Official language Act by August 15 positively,” stated Pardia in Press release.
