Sambalpur students deprived of hearing PM

Students and teachers of Sambalpur, who were eagerly watching the DD channel to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the Teacher’s Day on Friday, were disappointed as rains and lightning disrupted the TV transmission of the programme.

“Our keen desire fizzled out just 10 to 12 minutes after the PM addressed students due to technical problems,” teachers of the Budharaja High School and many other schools said.

Besides, a good number of retired teachers, headmasters and headmistresses gathered in the school premises here on Friday afternoon to listen to the Prime Minister.

“Initially 10 minutes were okay but a lighting made everything topsy-turvy,” rued some students. Since the telecast from the local DD centre got totally delinked after the lighting, all our efforts to revive the programme got failed. Hence, the students and all those present had no other option than to leave the hall amidst sheer disappointment,” a teacher said.

Students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Sambalpur, who witnessed the programme, informed that they couldn’t see the programme for more than 10 minutes.

However, luck was favourable to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who addressed the students in the morning hour. Everything was alright for CM and the transmission went undisrupted with clear sound.
