BJP dissident youth leader Siddhartha Saha joined the Congress on Friday. He was the blue-eyed boy of BJP a few years back and was a close associate of Sambalpur BJP MlA Jayanarayan Mishra. He is the vice-chairman of the Sambalpur Municipality and has a vast business network.
Saha developed differences with MlA Mishra and former BJP chairperson of Sambalpur Municipality Reena Trivedy and wanted to leave the party.
In a vast procession, Saha reached the Congress office here, where senior leaders of the party, including district president Rajkishore Das, welcomed him.
Jharsuguda Congress MlA Naba Das described Saha as an asset for the party. Rengali Congress MlA Durjyodhan Gardia, former Minister Kishore Patel and senior party Sureswar Mishra, who were present, also hailed Saha’s entry into the Congress.
