Samata Kranti Dal demands CBI probe

PNS

The Samata Kranti Dal, a newly floated political party, here on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into the chit fund scams and also urged the State Government to create a special fund to return the small investors’ money.

Senior party member lalit Mohan Patnaik said the Odisha High Court’s denial to spare a sitting judge to probe the scams exposed the State Government’s failure and showbiz attitude towards a sensitive issue. The BJD Government had ordered judicial probe only to divert the attention of protesters and criticism of opposition political parties, he alleged.

Earlier, the State and the Central Governments had influenced many investigation reports and suppressed many incidents by using power which is reflected in the recent chit fund cases, alleged the party members. The statement of AT group chief Pradip Sethi about involvement of MlAs and Ministers of the ruling party and the recent revelation through an audio CD regarding financial transaction between the company and political leaders clearly prove that the State Government is trying to cover up the issue, the leaders added.

“If the State Government doesn't take appropriate steps in time, investors’ suicide may take place across the State like farmers’ suicide, for which the Government will be responsible,” they said.
