Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT & KISS, has recently been nominated as a member of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a statutory body of the Government of India.
A notification to this effect has been published in The Gazette of India. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has nominated Dr Samanta to the NCTE in recognition of his commendable contributions in the field of mass education.
Dr Samanta is the first Odia to become a member of this body. Samanta will officiate in this capacity for a three-year tenure and be involved in framing policy on various matters in the NCTE. The NCTE has Secretary-level officials of the Government of India and eminent educationists as its members.
