In the loving memory of Biju Patnaik, founder of the Sainik School Bhubaneswar, a mini marathon was organised at the Sainik School on Sunday in which over 1,500 participants, including 500 cadets from the Sainik School and students from local schools and colleges too part.
The marathon was a collaborative event by the Sainik School and its Old Boys’ Association and the Odisha Mining Corporation to spread the message of a “Clean, Green and Healthy” Bhubaneswar.
This marathon started from the Sainik School’s Gandhi Mini Stadium and culminated at the starting point covering a distance of 7.3 km.
Lt Gen JK Mohanty, Group Capt S Dominic Rayan, Principal, Sainik School, and Anup Sahoo, DCP, Bhubaneswar flagged off the marathon.
State Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, chief guest, distributed prizes to the notable participants.
