Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda is unlikely to be produced before the SDJM Court at Baliguda on Wednesday as Kandhamal SP Kanwar Vishal Singh expressed inability to provide the required security cover in the court premises before August 15, sources said.
The SDJM Court, Baliguda had on Monday directed the Kandhamal SP to produce Panda before it on August 13. There are more than 21 cases pending against Sabyasachi in different police stations in Kandhamal district. He was to be produced before the SDJM Court in connection with five of them, including Swami laxmanananda Saraswati murder case.
Sabyasachi masterminded the attack on the premises of Sanskrit Kanyashram at Jalespata in which Swami laxmanananda Saraswati, Kishore Baba, Mata Bhaktamayee, Amrutanandji and Puranjan Gantayat were gunned down.
A case was registered in the Tumudibandh PS in this connection based on a complaint by Brahmachari Madhab Chaitanya. Brahmachari had mentioned Sabyasachi Panda’s name in the complaint.
