Sabuja Sundar Baripada fights Covid-19

While the administration and several other agencies are active in tackling the Covid-19 situation in Mayurbhanj, the role of a local leading voluntary organisation Sabuja Sundar Baripada in this regard has been quite remarkable. It is found to be active and ahead both in making people aware on the pandemic and in helping the distressed and the needy.

Ever since the countrywide lockdown was imposed as part of the nation’s strategy to combat Covid-19, the Sabuja Sundar Baripada's topmost leader Jitendra  Mohanty (Nachhi), among others, have been at the forefront of the fight against Corona here.

They have been visiting different wards of Baripada Municipality as well as different parts of Mayurbhanj district to oversee relief activities. Mohanty is seen to be personally monitoring different activities like distribution of masks, sanitisers and soaps and also supply of food to the poor.

Mohanty, along with other Sabuja Sundar Baripada activists, recently distributed masks and soaps among the sweepers, garbage-collectors and other healthcare and sanitary workers of the district. The organisation, a few days ago, also jumped into action, when several migrant workers, passing through the district, were found to be facing a lot of troubles.

Reaching the spot, Mohanty and his team members did all that they could to facilitate the migrant labourers' journey towards their destinations. Many of them were coming from Bhuvaneswar and Baleswar and were heading towards different parts of West Bengal and Jharkhand.

Besides, Sabuja Sundar activists are also seen these days feeding many stray animals like dogs and cows across the town. The workers are trying to ensure that no stray animal goes hungry in the trouble-torn days.

Mohanty, who is also the President of Biju Yuva Janata Dal in Mayurbhanj, has advised his party colleagues to help the distressed in every possible way.
