“I have been constantly donating to various educational institutions towards different peripheral developments for a long time. Being a retired Professor, I believe it is my duty to donate to institutions that shape the future of numerous students,” said Dr Ramakrushna Panda who recently donated Rs 10 lakh to the Government Women’s College, Sambalpur.

Dr Panda, a retired Reader of Botany, is on a mission to contribute financial help to different colleges across the State for their structural development to create an education worthy environment. Recently, he donated Rs10 lakh to Government Women’s College for its infrastructural development. He previously worked in the same college which made him believe in the need for contributions. “After learning about ‘Mo College’ and the way it helps out students by doubling the donated amount, I could not resist but contributed my part as well. It indeed is a blessing in disguise for people like us who want to do something for our alma-mater,’’ Dr Panda said.

Previously, he also donated hefty amounts to different colleges and a corpus fund dedicated towards impoverished students. Dr Panda also mentioned about one of the major inspirations that he has received in his lifetime is from his elder sister Dr Narayani Panda who is a renowned gynaecologist and obstetrician of the State. She exhibited outstanding generosity in the past by donating Rs 50 lakh to colleges/universities towards quality education.

Principal of Government Women’s College Rajashree Baral, Professor Samita Acharya, Prof Pabitra Mohan Behera along with ‘Mo College’ Coordinator Prof Jogesh Chandra Bhoi were present at the residence of Dr Panda while he handed over a cheque.
