Ashok Kumar Mishra, Executive Officer, Sundargarh Municipality, was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from one Sk Sahid Haq of Jharsuguda town to release his pending bills towards supply of dress materials to the municipality employees during 2017. In another instance, Vigilance officials raided various places in connection with allegations against Biharilal Barik, PEO, Puintala panchayat, Balangir district, regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Till last reports came in, officials detected a two-storied building, land and gold ornaments possessed by Barik.
