The Vigilance police on Thursday caught Sumit Kumar, Divisional Accounts Officer (DAO) in the office of Superintending Engineer, RWS&S Division, Nabarangpur red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
Kumar had demanded the bribe from a complainant for preparing agreement documents in his favour relating to a work.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were conducted on the residential rented house and office room of the accused DAO at Nabarangpur. Later, Kumar was arrested and forwarded to court.
