With vested interest, some rumour mongers are busy spreading news with regard to transfer and promotion of police officers in Joda police station of Keonjhar district.
Sumeet Soren, who has joined as IIC Joda in August 2016, has been very active in taking action against criminals, mining mafias and regulating traffic problem in Joda to the great disadvantages of a section of people of Joda Barbil who have their own rules of laws and from the day one, these vested groups have been trying to put obstacles and confronting Soren.
The matter touched its climax, when Soren arrested mines owner TP Mohanty and his son on charge of creating unruly situation with police personnel on duty of traffic control Mohanty also, who has a powerful lobby in Bhubaneswar,was able to bring ADG, Human Rights Commission, to Joda to inquire in to the appropriateness of action of Soren to arrest him and his son.
Since that day, it has been a common word in the mouth of some people that Soren is going to be transferred very soon. It became very vociferous recently after the joining of Kabita Jallan, former Keonjhar SP as DIG, Rourkela. Rumour is spreading that as TP Mohanty and his group has their good influence over Jallan and the transfer of Soren is certain.
On the other hand, another rumour is going on that PK Samal, Beat House in Charge ,Bileipada under Joda PS, will be promoted to IIC and is in the good book of Jallan. So even after promotion, he will not be transferred and will work in the same PS.”
Notably, Samal had been transferred previously but it is alleged that he is working in the same post for more than five years. Seeing all this drama, it is discussed among public that if officers are there who are working in the same post for more than 5 years without being transferred, then why upright officer like Soren will be transferred, rather he should be allowed to continue there. It is demanded that the police administration should look into the matter to end the confusion among police and public.
