A four-member delegation of the Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhijan on Tuesday met Governor SC Jamir and submitted a memorandum demanding dismissal of all Information Commissioners of the State, considering the illegal activities of the Commission like arbitrary disposal of the cases .
“We apprised the Governor about the authoritarian functioning of the Commission. The panel hears cases for just less than two hours a day; taking 8 to 10 cases per day; goes on leave suo moto during summer and Puja vacation like the State High Court (nowhere it happens in India) and writes thedecisions and makes correspondence with illiterate people in English. The Governor assured us to look into it,” said forum’s State convener Pradip Pradhan.
