After several debates on the demands of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) workers, the RSP management has agreed to grant Els to its workers in a maximum of four phases instead of three in a calendar year, said a recent circular of the company.
In a Press release, Rourkela Shramik Sangh (RSS) leader Prashant Behera stated that the workers were facing many problems as they were allowed to avail Els for maximum three times in a calendar year.Besides, Behera mentioned many other demands, inclusion of trainees under the special award for performance incentive scheme and provision of quarter maintenance allowance to them.The Sangha leader also expressed his concern for the two years delay in implementation of new wage schemes.
He, however, threatened that the union would be forced to resort to agitation unless the management fails to disburse arrears of the revised wage according to the NJCS soon.
