Unidentified miscreants stole Rs 3 lakh kept in a Maruti Van in front of the State Bank of India, main branch here in the broad day light on Monday. Reports said, Itish Chandra Dixit, an employee at the Vandana Hotel had come to the SBI for withdrawing Rs 3 lakh for employer Manjit Singh.
Having withdrawn the money, he kept the amount in one Maruti Van parked outside the bank.
However, later, Dixit entered into the bank again. A few minutes later, when he returned to the vehicle, he found the money was stolen, while the bag where it was kept lied empty. Immediately, Dixit registered a complaint before the Town Police. An investigation is on.
