In a daring broad daylight robbery, armed miscreants decamped with over Rs 8 lakh after attacking an employee of a mineral transportation company in Keonjhar district on Saturday.
Reports said the robbers intercepted two staffs of the company when they were travelling by a two-wheeler near Thakurdihi under the Sadar police station.
After attacking one of the staffs with a sharp weapon, the robbers looted the cash and decamped on a bike after firing couple of rounds. The injured staff was shifted to a nearby hospital.
The two staffs were returning after withdrawing the money from the IDBI Bank when the incident occurred. Police have begun investigation into the incident based on the complaint of the victims.
