On the second day of the special Covid enforcement drive on Thursday, the Odisha police acted against 11,801 violators of mask usage and social distancing rules and collected a total fine of Rs 26.62 lakh
Cumulatively in last two days, action has been taken against 21,201 violators of Covid protocols in the State and penal fines amounting to Rs 51.70 lakh have been collected.“We urge all to wear mask and maintain social distance.
The enforcement measures will be further intensified in coming days,” police said.Meanwhile, on Friday the Commissionerate police raided vegetable and fish markets at Jayadev Vihar, Units IV and VIII and at Sanatorium Square in Bhubaneswar to enforce Covid appropriate behaviour.
