Unidentified miscreants on Monday evening looted Rs 35 lakh from the Andhra Bank Laimula branch staffs at Thuntipal under the Kucinda police station in Sambalpur.
Reports said the Branch Manager of the bank, another staff and driver were returning from Sambalpur in a four-wheeler after collecting cash, six bike-borne youths intercepted.
The miscreants then terrorised the bank employees and snatched a bag containing the money at gun point. After looting the cash, the miscreants fled the spot.
Based on a complaint filed with the Kuchinda police, an investigation is on and cops have put up multiple check-points to nab the miscreants.
Sambalpur SP Kanwar Vishal Singh also rushed to Kuchinda to monitor the investigation.
Meanwhile, police have detained the four-wheeler driver suspecting his involvement in the loot.
