On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, simultaneous searches were launched by the Vigilance police on the properties of Sunil Kumar Panda, Chief Engineer-cum-Chief Electrical Inspector, Sambalpur, in Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar and assets worth Rs 3.39 crore were detected.
The assets included a 3 BHK Flat, Block-A, Green Park Residency, Sambalpur; two plots in Ainthapali in Sambalpur town; a shop in Grand Bazar, Bhubaneswar; a plot booked with Assotech Builders, Bhubaneswar; bank deposits of Rs 32.04 lakh; insurance deposits worth Rs 19.80 lakh; investment in Mutual Fund worth Rs 16.28 lakh; a four-wheeler and a two-wheeler. Besides, gold ornaments, cash and other movable and immovable properties worth Rs 15.77 lakh were traced.
Further searches were continuing.
