Police conducted a raid on the Jhadeswrpur slum under the Jaleswar police station in Baleswar district and seized 260 grams of brown sugar and arrested three persons including the kingpin of the racket.
The arrested accused were identified as Ak Saffiurddin (33),Sk Tairuddin (35) and Sayeda Bibi (30) , all residents of Rajpur village in Jaleswar.
The street value of the seized contraband is Rs 26 lakh.
Reports said that several cases are pending against Tairuddhin at different police stations for operating the illegal narcotics trade. He was supplying drugs to several States like West Bengal and Odisha.
