Ghanashyam Sabar, Forester, Komna Section under the Khariar Forest Division in Nuapada district, came under Vigilance raid on Wednesday.
Cash of Rs 5,05,000 was recovered from his possession when he was intercepted on NH-353 while returning from Komna to his residence at Khariar town by his motorcycle, an official release on Thursday said.
Moreover, cash of Rs 8,00,000 was also recovered during a search of his Government residential quarter located at Komna. Further, cash of Rs 80,000 was recovered from the drawer of Sabar’s office table at Komna, the release said.
With all this, the total cash recovery was Rs 13,85,000, which the Forester could not account for satisfactorily.
Later, simultaneous searches were launched at his residential house at Khariar and parental house located at Borogaon till this reports came in on Thursday.
