The Excise Mobile Squad on Tuesday seized brown sugar weighing 100 grams and arrested twopersons in this connection.
The arrestees were identified as Sridhar Nayak and Ajay Pradhan.
The excise sleuths also seized a Honda Amaze car used for transportation of the contraband.
Acting on a tipoff, the excise personnel intercepted the vehicle near Lingipur on the city outskirts and arrested both the accused.
Excise officials said that the market value of the contraband would be Rs 10 lakh. “The contraband was being transported to Puri from Cuttack. Both the accused are being interrogated to ascertain the source of procurement,” said an excise official.
