The VFS Global Services ltd, an outside agency, has been entrusted the job of inspecting all applications submitted to the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) for its approval for construction of new buildings.
Replying to a question of MlA Chandrasekhar Majhi, Housing and Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singhdoe said the Government has not fixed any annual fee for inspection of the applications by the said agency. For this work, Rs 2.76 per square foot areas is normally provided. Accordingly, the VFS Global has been given Rs 1,02,03,095 between December 2014 and now.
The Mumbai-based agency is one of the leading outsourcing and technology services specialist and providing services for Governemnts and diplomatic missions worldwide, the Minister informed. It has employed 26 employees of different categories for this work in the State.
