The executive body meeting of the Balangir district unit of the BJD was held here on Wednesday.
Attending the meeting, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Surjya Narayan Patro, labour Minister Sushant Singh and MlAs Tukuni Sahu, Jogendra Behera, Ayub Khan, Rajya Sabha Member AU Singh Deo and MP Kalikesh Singh Deo deliberated on how to strengthen the party in
rural areas.
The leaders put forth their views on the party’s performance in recently concluded panchayat elections.
They urged workers make people know about the State Government’s pro-poor and welfare schames in rural areas.
They too criticised the NDA Government at the Center for neglecting Odisha in the Mahanadi issue and denying Special Category State (SCS) status.
Earlier, leaders paid floral tributes to late RN Singh Deo and late Biju Patnaik .
They informed that a youth convention would be held here in the last week of July and Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik would address it.
