After making India polio-free with the support of other partners in service, the Rotary India is now committed to contribute to a successful implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The Rotary signed a declaration ‘Chennai Declaration’ on December 13, 2014, by which it adopted the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan as its significant and ‘must do’ project, said Rotary International Director Manoj Desai at a Press meet here on Thursday.  Under the project, the Rotary India would take up a Pan-India programme WinS (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools) proactively and adopt schools for providing facilities and inculcating awareness among school children bringing synergy with literacy to achieve the objective of complete education, he added.

The Rotary India would implement the WinS programme in at least 10,000 schools in selected areas in the country every year, Desai said.

Among others, RID-3262 District Governor Sibabrata Dash and Rotarians N Nayak, Tushar Ranjan Mohanty and Debabrata Panigrahi were present.
