SRIKUMAR MAHANTA

Four masked miscreants on Monday night barged into the house of Bidhyadhar Mahakuda at Bhabanipali under the Binka police station and, after threatening the family members, decamped with cash and valuables.

The robbers looted Rs 25,000 in cash, one tola of gold, a TV set, mobile phones and costly sarees from the house. Hearing a knock at the door, when he opened it, suddenly four miscreants forcefully entered into the house. The miscreants abused him and his father Dukhu Makakud and looted the cash and valuables, alleged Bidhyadhar in a complaint to the Binka police.

later, Subarnapur SP Prafulla Patra and Sonepur SDPO Bhabani Shankar Udgata rushed to the spot with forensic team and started investigations. However, the cops are still clueless about the miscreants, sources said.

Similarly, on Tuesday night, burglars broke into the Palsapali shop of Surya Badpanda (50) of Babupali village under the Binka PS and stole coins of Rs 25,000 from the shop. Notably before few days, lakhs of rupees were looted in a dacoity at Singhijuba village, while till today the police are still clueless.

In another case on Monday, Rs 25,000 was looted from a bike’s side box in front of a bank here. Besides, Rs 1.5 lakh and 20 tolas of gold ornaments were also stolen from Jampali village in 2016. But unfortunately, the police have not been able to achieve any breakthrough, for which people have lost faith on the police.

By taking advantage of the reticent policing, some dacoity and burglar gangs have mushroomed. This has triggered panic among the locals who now feel their life and property is no safer. The locals have demanded the intervention of the SP and Director General of Police(DGP) in the matter.
