The newly-constructed Platform No 4 of the Brahmapur railway station would be inaugurated by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu through remote control from Bhubaneswar on July 16. This was disclosed by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Khurda SK Singh to the media on Saturday during his visit to the railway station.Singh reviewed the progress of the various railway development works at the railway station. To keep a tab on looters, the authorities are going to instal CCTVs at different strategic locations for security of passengers by March next year, he said.
Functioning of a passenger halt station at the Ankuli industrial junction and installation of an escalator for the Brahmapur railway station to facilitate senior citizens and physically-challenged persons are also under the consideration of the Railway Ministry, he said.The inspection team which visited the railway station included Senior Divisional Commercial Manager H luang and Divisional Engineer (South) Ashoak Kumar. Among others, Station Manager Durga Prasad Brahma was present.
