The Manav Adhikaar Protection, India on Sunday demanded that the State Government dismiss the Nayapalli police station IIC and two women Sub-Inspectors, who had assaulted two girls, and arrest them.

In a Press meet held here, organisation State president Indira Dash alleged that the Nayapalli police had taken such a step because one of the parties involved in property dispute is a policeman.

And now as the two girls are on bail, the police in retaliation are searching to arrest their mother and another girl of the family, she alleged.

She also said that after the matter was circulated in the social media, the police administration is trying to suppress the issue by merely transferring the three police officials.

Pointing out that crimes against women are increasing in the State day by day, Dash also demanded that the Government take the matter seriously and ensure stringent actions against the culprits.

The organisation threatened that if the Government fails to fulfil its demands, it would hold a demonstration in front of the Naveen Niwas for an indefinite period.

Among others, the forum’s convenor Prakash Rath, joint convenor Debasish Mishra and student leader Santanu Satpathy were present.
