Revenue staff threaten mass leave from Dec 26

PNS

The Odisha Revenue Service Association (ORSA) on Monday threatened to go on mass leave from December 26 demanding fulfilment of its longstanding demands.

ORSA president Purandar Nanda and secretary Hitansu Sekhar Samal at a Press meet here said the association has taken the drastic decision after repeatedly appraising the Government about their demands.

Earlier in meetings on March 27, July 5 and December 13, they were assured by the Revenue Minister that their demands would be looked into.

“We had raised several issues including hike in grade pay from Rs 4,600 to Rs 5,400 as per Seventh Pay Commission recommendations and up-gradation of our rank from ORS to ORS-I cadre. But unfortunately even months have passed the Government hasn’t taken any concrete step to fulfill even one of their demands,” said Samal and Nanda.

It might be mentioned here that 891 ORS officials are engaged in different posts like Additional Tehsildars, Additional Collectors, Deputy Managers and Municipality Executive Officers. If they go on leave public service would be affected. So, taking this into consideration ORSA’s legitimate demands should be considered positively,” they added.
