In their efforts for a plastic-free Odisha, the State Government have decided to motivate people for making best utilisation of empty packets of Omfed milk and plastic bottles after using them.
People would be paid on returning the Omfed packets and plastic bottles, informed Forest & Environment Additional Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra on Thursday.
A meeting was held in this regard at the State Secretariat to discuss the rules to be implemented for plastic ban.
As per the move by the authorities, the plastic packets and bottles would be collected through agents. The details for collection of plastic packets would be provided through a public notice by the end of August.
Sources also said that the rules on plastic ban would be formulated by September 15.
