Restore pass-fail system from Class I: AIDSO

PNS

The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) on Wednesday demanded that both the Union and State Governments adopt the old pass-fail system from Class I to higher level in the interest of students. AIDSO national general secretary Ashok Kumar Mishra said the Congress-led UPA Government had lifted pass-fail system since the year 2009 pushing future of many students into dark. Many States, including Odisha, also followed the Central rules making class promotions compulsory till Class lX. “After continued fight by the AIDSO, the NDA Government has now decided to amend the Right to Education Act 2009 to adopt pass-fail system for Class V and Class VIII only and make Board examination compulsory for Class X.  This is a victory for the AIDSO,” said Mishra in a statement.
