Home Department Principal Secretary Asit Tripathy, who has been entrusted to carry out a probe into the bottle hurling incident at the Barabati Stadium during the recent India-South Africa T20, on Monday informed that the report sought by the Chief Minister would be submitted very soon.

“I had given a set of questionnaire to the Commissionerate Police and the host Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) who have given their reply last week. I have gone through their replies thoroughly. I will visit the Barabati stadium very soon and then submit my report to the State Government,” Tripathy told reporters here, adding that report would mention about the reasons that led to the unsavoury incident.

Notably, irate spectators had thrown water bottles on to the ground during theT20 match between India and South Africa on October 5 disrupting the smooth conduct of the game for several times.

Despite the requests made by the Commissionerate Police and the OCA officials, the unrelenting spectators kept on throwing bottles. Following the unsavoury incident Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked the Home Department Principal Secretary to probe into the incident and submit a report to the Government within a month.
