The Indecency Prevention Movement observed the Religious Harmony Day to mark the death anniversary its propagator Pujyashree Kumar Bhai at the Sobhaniya Sikhashram at Bidanasi here on Saturday.

Former FM University Vice-Chancellor Prof Sukadeb Nanda inaugurated the programme and highlighted about writings of Kumar Bhai. “The writings of Kumar Bhai are based on fundamentals of the Geeta, the Bible, the Quran and all other religious epics. They preach tolerance, sacrifice and the feeling of joy making others happy, which are essentials of secularism,” Nanda opined and added, “We all, whatever may be our caste, creed and religion, should work together without any prejudices so that a society can be made a secured place to live in.”

Joining the second session as chief guest, Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said, “Pujyashree Kumar Bhai was a great reformer. His sermons enlighten us. The society can be a safe place if decency is secured.”

Justice Basudev Panigrahi said teachings of Kumar Bhai are applicable to all fields and can bring positive changes in the society if they are propagated and implemented properly. Movement members Satyabhama Debi, Arundhati Debi and Rukmani debi Debi conducted the programme.
