A rehabilitation package with human touch for the proposed displaced people of the Lower Suktel Irrigation Project is likely to be declared soon to expedite the project work, said Chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Asit Tripathy after taking a review of different ongoing projects of the WODC here on Wednesday.
Stating that the Government is giving importance to the Lower Suktel Irrigation Project, Tripathy said that the project work is being reviewed on a regular basis. After completion of the project, it would provide irrigation facilities in 51,000 hectares through underground system, Tripathy informed. To groom local entrepreneurs in western Odisha, investors’ meetings would be held at Sambalpur and Balangir.
Moreover, all the projects undertaken with WODC funds would be completed in a time-bound manner, said Tripathy further.
