Continuance of senior leader Bijay Mohapatra in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now at stake in view of party State president Basanta Panda drawing national president Amit Shah’s attention to the alleged anti-party activities of Mohapatra, who is a member of the party’s national executive.
Panda even went public on Friday when he told the media on Friday that he has apprised Shah about Mohapatra’s utterances and activities to the detriment of the party’s interest.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is the BJP’s leading face in the State and whose leadership Mohapatra does not particularly accept, avoided the move against the rebel leader when he told reporters that it is the party’s internal matter.
