The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the State Crime Branch on Friday arrested a real estate company employee, Soumendra Narayan Dalabehera, on the charge of defrauding customers. Dalabehera, a native of Sarankul in Nayagarh district, is accused of executing sale deeds for Z-Infra in capacity of general manager of the company. The Z-Infra collected Rs 12 crore in the guise of providing houses and plots from many customers and allegedly cheated them. Dalabehera executed several agreements with potential customers and was also instrumental in pursuing customers to buy plots from Z-Infra. He has been booked under different sections of the IPC and the OPID Act.
Earlier, the EOW has arrested the MD and directors of Z-Infra in connection with the fraud.
