PNS

A group of students, teachers, parents and intellectuals on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of the office of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) demanding re-evaluation of all subjective and objective answer papers of the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations.

The parents and intellectuals said that unbelievably low marks in objective papers have raised eyebrows on the BSE’s present system of evaluation. They criticised the BSE president, who had recently sought to clarify that the errors occurred due to computer snags.

leading personalities like Akshay Das, Dr Manoranjan Mohanty, Binapani Das Pratap Mishra and former Ravenshaw Students’ Union president Ganesh Kumar Tripathy demanded that the State Government abolish the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet system and gradation method in the matriculation examinations, evaluation of the answer papers and compensation of `30 lakh to the family members of the students who committed suicide after receiving wrong results.
