MBA and MCA students of the Regional College of Management (RCM) on Wednesday urged Governor Dr SC Jamir to direct the State Government to issue final degree certificates in favour of pass-out students soon.

Over one hundred students came in a rally from the RCM College to the Governor’s house and staged a dharna in front of the Rajbhavan protesting callousness of the college management in delivering their certificates.

A five-member delegation of the students went to the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Secretary of the Governor. “The Secretary has given us assurance that they would take appropriate steps to resolve our problmes,” said Raza Quadir, a student.

They burnt boots of their college director Prof Prabir Pal during the protest. Earlier, the students had staged a rally in front of the State Assembly demanding issue of certificates for their students.

Notably, due to a dispute over its admission into MBA course, the institute has not been able to get certificates from the BPUT since 2009. The students’ stir entered 51st day on Wednesday.
