The Ravenshaw University Development Trust (RUDT) has decided to institute three annual fellowships of Rs 1 lakh each in the fields of Humanities, Science and Commerce in order to upgrade the research activities in the university.
The RUDT took this decision at a meeting held here recently. It also decided to augment the existing funds available with it by appealing to fellow Ravenshavians and well wishers to contribute for the purpose. The trust plans raise at least 50 lakh to add to its existing fixed deposit, informed trust Chairman Anant Mohapatra. He urged upon all Ravenshavians, past and present, and well wisher of the premier institute to donate through cheques/drafts in favour of Ravenshaw University Development Trust to Anant Mahapatra, Purabi, Vivekananda Marg, Bhubaneswar-751014 (Mobile Nos. 9437061064/0674-2432176) or to Prof PK Jena, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack-753003 (Mobile No.9861094836)Mahapatra said every donation would be acknowledged.
Notably, the RUDT formed in 1994 played a key role in upgrading the Ravenshaw College to a unitary university in 2006 and continue to make efforts to uphold its glory.
