The 27th Raahgiri would be celebrated in coming Sunday with a sweet experience and theme centered on Rasagola as it would coincide with the ‘Niladribije’.
According to temple tradition during the ‘Niladri Bije’, lord Jagannath, after the nine-day sojourn during the Rath Yatra, takes the spongy sweets home to appease Goddess lakshmi.
Since last year’s Nabakalebara, the ‘Niladribije’ is being celebrated as ‘Rasagola Divas’ by Odias worldwide.
Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said, “Five Rasagola makers from Pahala region would give a live demonstration on the making of the Rasagola at the Raahgiri venue.” There would be four Rasagola counters in the Raahgiri area where people can see live demo of Rasagola making,” he informed.
Jena also said the Rasagola makers from Pahala would demonstrate everything, starting from the making of the country cheese, preparing the dough and small balls, making of the sugary syrup and finally preparing the wonder sweet.
Another attraction of the 27th Raahgiri would be two professional bands from the CRPF and the Odisha Police, which would provide a musical surrounding throughout the event.
As the World Youth Skill Development Day is on July 15, to create awareness on all Government’s schemes for technical and skill development, the Art Ya Craft, the Pecuc and the Art Goodam would organise related events.
