AICC secretary and Rajya Sabha member from Odisha Rama Chandra Khuntia appraised the political scenario in the State to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday.
Called by Gandhi for the meeting, Khuntia reportedly told the former that the prospects of the Congress in the next general elections are becoming brighter. He urged Gandhi to undertake more tours of the State to further enthuse the party cadres.
Earlier, Gandhi had held talks with some more party leaders from the State, including Union Minister Srikant Jena, on how to strengthen the party ahead of the elections so that it comes to power.
